PGVZ: more care for less money, based on real-time data

Gosse Noppert, director of PGVZ, shares his experiences

PGVZ was founded six years ago by Director Gosse Noppert, based on the belief that clients deserve more choice and control over their own care. The organization provides customized care to approximately 3,300 care recipients in Overijssel and Gelderland, with a team of about 830 employees. PGVZ is active in home care, specialized outpatient support, employment and day programs, and housing initiatives.

“Given the scope and diversity of our work, it’s becoming increasingly important to have good, up-to-date management information.”

PGVZ’s guiding principle is clear: more care for less money. This requires lean and smart operations. But as the organization grew, so did the need for management information that is truly up-to-date and reliable. The existing system was primarily designed to record care provided to clients, not to analyze it.

From Recording to Management

To make that shift, the data first had to be made accessible in a consistent manner. EscuLine (part of SureSync) played a key role in this, partly because they speak the language of healthcare. Team coordinators were also explicitly involved in the development of the dashboards. This was intentional: the people who work with the data on a daily basis must be able to use it independently.

The dashboards are tailored to the specific context of PGVZ. For example, the TeamMonitor takes into account sector-specific factors such as the number of different care providers per care recipient, productivity, and the ratio between staffing levels and actual deployment.

PGVZ now uses the Team Basic Dashboard, the Efficiency Basic Dashboard, the Incidents Basic Dashboard, and the Billing Basic Dashboard. EscuLine also alerts the organization to instances where data is missing, incomplete, or entered incorrectly, which further enhances the reliability of management decisions.

Partnership as a Starting Point

PGVZ describes its collaboration with EscuLine as a partnership that aligns with the organization’s growth phase. The ambition for the future is to enrich the data with external sources, with applications in the training plan, employee recruitment, and negotiations with financial partners.
