The education sector is taking the next step in its digital accountability chain: the transition from XBRL to inline XBRL (iXBRL). DUO plays a central coordinating role in a chain involving educational institutions and boards, sector councils, administrative offices, auditors, providers of iXBRL reporting software, the Education Inspectorate, and the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science. SureSync supports this transition with SureSync Connect.
XBRL Europe in Paris
In late May, Sander 't Hoen, chairman of XBRL Netherlands and an employee at SureSync, spoke at the 34th XBRL Europe conference in Paris about the upcoming transition. Three topics took center stage: the successful adoption of the SBR reporting framework in education, iXBRL as the next step toward efficiency and transparency, and SureSync’s role in this sector-wide transition.
Connection to DUO via SureSync Connect
With SureSync Connect, educational institutions submit the digital filing package for their annual financial statements—known as the “Report Package for Education”—to DUO. The platform is not a solution built specifically for this purpose, but rather the direct application of years of experience with critical government infrastructure, such as Digipoort.
SureSync Connect is the next evolution of that experience: fully compliant with EU laws and regulations, aligned with the Dutch Digitalization Strategy, and built to meet the standards, scale, and requirements of modern supply chain reporting. More information about the iXBRL transition in the education sector can be found here.
